Hello! I'm new to Dreamwidth (freshly migrated from LJ, where I was She_of_Emeralds, in case some of you are/were on LJ with me), and just joined this group. I've been crocheting since high school, so about 35 years. I'd love to get to know some of you.

I'm currently working on:

1. a stashbuster afghan for me
2. a toddler blankie for a friend's kid
3. a hat for the wife of another friend
4. a soap-saver
and 5. a nice blue shawl for me. First shawl I will have made, or at least the first one I will have finished. I keep messing things up somehow. So for this one I chose a very simple pattern.

Hello, all. I just joined and thought I'd show you my current project. I'm hoping to finish it up this week or next because I already have my next one (which involves circles and learning) in mind.

Anyhow...

When I was at the craft store looking for the perfect multicolored yarn for this Tetris blanket for vasco_pyjama, what I found was this instead: Lion Brand "Hometown USA" yarn, which is thick and really soft and comes in a dozen or so really rich colors. And I only had to do three rounds to make a pretty big square.

I'm Kristen. I'm also on Ravelry, which is looking like it's going to be a total lifesaver in helping me thin out my yarn stash! Current WIP: A Maui shrug, with some old Patton's Brilliant yarn in black.

I would like to see this comm make good use of tags. Are there some tags you can think of that I should be adding right off the bat?
