My sister had her first baby in January, and I decided to crochet a mobile for her. I went with a bug theme, and scoured Ravelry for free patterns, and consignment shops for a mobile I could take apart and use.

Here's the pics and info on Ravelry if you'd like to see it there.

The sun is from the Happy Day Mobile in Crochet Today magazine.

The bee is Bazzil the Buzzing Bumblebee by Amy Dianna on Ravelry.

The dragonfly is from the Dragonfly Mobile by Emily Forrest on Ravelry.

The ladybug is the Lady Bug Amigurumi by Heliina Swerdlyk on Ravelry.

The butterfly is from Baby’s Crib Mobile by Lily/Sugar ‘n Cream on Ravelry.

I bought a baseball mobile from a consignment shop, took the stuffed bears off, and cleaned the plastic parts really well. Then took my seam ripper and pulled the strings out of the bears, and tied the strings to my bugs. Put a little Gorilla Glue on the knots to make sure they hold, put it all back together, and, voila! A brand-new mobile for the brand-new(ish) baby!
