The other day, I posted asking for advice re: where to buy tunisian crochet hooks and was told about Lacis in Berkeley. I've driven by this store I don't know how many times and have always thought it was a bridal gown store. Boy, was I fooled! They are a lace place, with a retail store and a museum, and they also have the most impressive collection of knitting needles and crochet hooks I've ever seen in one place, including some crochet hooks that are more works of art than they are needlework tools.
Lacis is on the corner of Adeline and Ashby and right across the street from the Ashby BART station. For those people who, unlike me, don't mind buying off the Internet, they also have an Internet catalog to buy from. If you're in town, you might want to stop by to even just browse. It's a real treat.
