I am having the worst time with this stupid sweater, but I've invested too much to pull it out and start over. (I'm 5 balls of yarn into it. You see the woe involved in pulling out five balls of yarn.) I found the pattern on Ravelry and it looked simple enough. Except the sizing is all wonky. I chained the number for my size and did the first two rows. Then I wrapped it around myself because it seemed really, really long. And it was. I could wrap it completely around myself and then again half. It is not a wrap style sweater. So then I pulled out the two rows and some of the chains and I think I should have just stuck with the original because I have a feeling that this is going to be the most WTF thing I've ever made.

Have you had any seriously messed up projects? What did you do when you realized that things were just going downhill?

On a much happier note, how about a couple of finished projects?

I caved and bought a pattern book (Leisure Arts' "Cute Little Animals") and have been working my way through that. So far, I have a cat (which is creepy looking), an unfinished puppy (which has been renamed the gingerbread boy), a pirate...

and a... I think it's supposed to be the Loch Ness monster, but I think he's somewhat like a dinosaur, so... whatever, he's Nestor.

And working off a favorite scarf pattern, I finished up a cable scarf for a friend of mine that will be here in about two weeks. Just in time, too, because it's getting wintery in her neck of the woods.

I made this pattern that was supposed to be a little bird, and I kept following it all the way to the end, hoping it would turn out looking right, but it ended up being this weird mangled thing that I had to just pull out. Fortunately, it was pretty tiny.

Agh, that's why I'm afraid to try making a large wearable.

Hooray for amigurumi! Much love for the pirate.

Cute pirate!

I have pulled out SO many projects. Especially clothing items. I have only made one sweater, almost two years ago now I think, and I need to re-do the bottom of it still. I think I might end up just giving it to charity though lol. It has no shape whatsoever XD
