A friend sent me a link to "Drops" today - it is a yarn site but they also have free patterns for both crochet and knitting. The link is HERE. The site is available in multiple languages, and patterns are also available in a variety of languages including both British and American English. From the little time I've had to browse so far, there are some gorgeous patterns, although obviously I haven't had time to try any out.
