Anyone Else Crocheting Along With Julie Yeager's New Square Pattern?

Today is the first day of a clue for her CAL for the square "Fantastic!"

Anyone else following along? I think it's going to be interesting and I plan on starting a few tonight, when I get home from work.

Thank you for the link. I wasn't aware of it, but having something like that to work along with might be a good idea, given that I inherited a *lot* of yarn last year, and need ideas of what to do with it.

No problem! I meant to start last night but I lost my damn J hook again. :P And my J hook might as well be my magic wand. :P I use it for everything.

I'll probably start on the weekend - if I like it, I'll make a handful, as I have a use for 1m square blankets. Wondering whether to use a slightly large hook, not sure what J translates to (I'm in Australia, and all our crochet hooks are labelled by diamber im mm).

thank you! I looked at that, and looked at the yarn I had, and decided that probably a 5 mm would do. I'm going to end up with a smaller square than is listed, but I guess that is one of those things.

At this point I've started two (I was going to start four, given that it is a four colour square), starting at different points of the colourway. Kind of enjoying it - I've done the first two days worth for one, and the first day for the other. Not convinced I like the block, but that is my general reaction to any project when I've committed just enough time in to not want to unpick!

I haven't started yet! The hardest part for me, of any project, is picking colors. *blush* But like you I plan on doing four since it's a four-color square. Since today is my day off of work, I actually plan on starting as soon as I get back from the library.

I'm thinking a cream, a gold, a green, and a blue. But we'll see what I actually end up using.

You could always just add a few rounds of single or half double crochet (I don't know if you use American or UK terms for the stitches.) to the square after the pattern rows are done, if you want to get it up to size. :)

I have an off-white, a sunflower yellow, and a bright green and blue! Is was what came out of the stash (I have a pile of ' use this up first') easily and went together. I'll see what I end up with before I work out how to make it in to something - I have a stash of blanket sections (not all mine) that I'll scrumble together one of these years.

I chose beige, teal, blue, and spring green. :D It will be adorkable! :D
