Hello! I'm new to Dreamwidth (freshly migrated from LJ, where I was She_of_Emeralds, in case some of you are/were on LJ with me), and just joined this group. I've been crocheting since high school, so about 35 years. I'd love to get to know some of you.

I'm currently working on:

1. a stashbuster afghan for me
2. a toddler blankie for a friend's kid
3. a hat for the wife of another friend
4. a soap-saver
and 5. a nice blue shawl for me. First shawl I will have made, or at least the first one I will have finished. I keep messing things up somehow. So for this one I chose a very simple pattern.

I just finished my first shawl for me. Used the All Shawl, by Doris Chan. Reasonably easy.

I forget the name of the pattern I'm using, but it was a kit from Craftsy, using Lion Brand's Shawl-in-a-Ball yarn. Soft and fluffy!

Hi there! New DWer, long time LJer. I'm working on a, what was going to be an afghan, but either my tension is too tight, or it will stretch when I block it, baby blanket in my wedding colors. I'm okay with it being a baby blanket, but, ugh that's disappointing! It's a sc chevron. I'm pretty new to crocheting, only about a year off and on. :)

I find that things made just out of sc can be pretty tight, at least for me. I've never been sure what to do about it.

I'm really disappointed, I may rip it out, because it's really small. I measured the foundation chain and it was the size of a large throw, I'm a little miffed that the pattern didn't mention that shrink allowance should be made, I looked several times for those instructions. :( Sorry to complain to you! Nobody else in my life crochets. :) <3

Hello! I made a baby blanket for someone's newborn recently (though since then, I've knitted, mostly).

I made a sweater and some booties and a little hat for this same kid when she was a baby. Now that she's toddling, I thought I'd make her something else. She's so adorable!

*waves hello* I just found this comm, and I'm really glad! I just finished a star ripple afghan, using one of those colour cake yarns (Premier Sweet Roll was the brand.) I'm not sold on the really abrupt colour changes, but it did make the stripes interesting and random.

Hi! I've started a ripple afghan. Originally, it was for stashbusting, but I'm only doing 5 colors... and I think I'm going to have to buy more yarn to complete the afghan. Typical ;)

There was a time where crochet was my craft. And then a friend tempted me to the dark side (quilting), and I spend equal time on that..
