Because I have an abundance of time and yarn combined with a lack of funds, everyone is getting crocheted Yule gifts this year. So far on my list to make is two pairs of fingerless gloves, a throw, and possibly a shawl (though I'm rethinking the latter). I come from a family of crafters, so I know the gifts would be appreciated.

I made this hat for my husband as he is in desperate need of ear-covering winter wear. I really, really like how it turned out:

Now I'm debating on making myself one if my hands aren't killing me by the end of the month.

Is anyone else doing handmade gifts for the winter holidays?

Yep; I'm planning to crochet another Grant Wood painting for my dad, if I can find the time/the right painting (he really liked the Grant Wood painting potholder I made for his birthday) and probably something Homestuck for my younger brother. I was going to give my mom this dragon for Christmas, but then her planned birthday present was late in the mail so I switched the two around.

I kind of wish my brother was a more avid brony, so I could take advantage of that craft contest Michaels is running and the sheer enthusiasm of the brony community, but that's probably not going to happen. Maybe if I can find one of those charity tree angel things... (I give this an 8 out of 10 for gift selfishness.)

And then maybe some random snowflakes and/or characters for various friends. IDK, we'll see what kind of time I have.

Also, may I just say that that is a totally snazzy hat? Because it is.
