Hello, all. I just joined and thought I'd show you my current project. I'm hoping to finish it up this week or next because I already have my next one (which involves circles and learning) in mind.

Anyhow...

First square
When I was at the craft store looking for the perfect multicolored yarn for this Tetris blanket for [personal profile] vasco_pyjama, what I found was this instead: Lion Brand "Hometown USA" yarn, which is thick and really soft and comes in a dozen or so really rich colors. And I only had to do three rounds to make a pretty big square.

Ten squares
This is where I laid out the width of the blanket and thought o crap, this is gonna be huge! But Fizzy (v_p) was still happy with the idea, so I kept working on it.

Squares 1 Squares 2
Lots and lots and lots and lots (150 altogether, about 111 so far)...

Rows 13, 14, 15 #1
Rows 13, 14, and 15.

With rows 10, 11, and 12 added on...

Aww crap, this should be rotated 90 degrees to the left. That's what happens when you have 10 rows at 10 squares per row and think you've got the picture. :P

My husband Chris says I can has naptime nao?

I've added two more rows since then, so now I get to make 35 more squares and put them together, and then take out all the yarn from where I made the strips (because they look uneven on the blanket), and re-stitch those lines so they look better. Fizzy's my best friend so I want it just right. :)

Awesomeness! That looks fantastic. I've always been a bit leary of piecing things together. It seems overwhelming somehow. But looking at that and all those bright colors makes me want to try it!
